Meteorite Fragment Campo del Cielo, Argentina
Iron Meteorite fell to Earth at approx 4,000 years during the Holocene Epoch. The Indian name Campo Del Cielo means 'Field of the sky or heaven'. Discovered in 1576 The Campo Del Cielo crater field is a group of at least 22 meteorite impact craters, 800 kilometres northwest of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The largest and best-known crater, located near the village of Chorotis, is 50 metres in diameter.
Properties Iron Meteorite : a course Octahedrite with silicate inclusions. Group 1. predominantly composed of Iron, Approx 6.62 percent Nickel, 0.43% Co, 0.25% P, 87ppm Ga, 407ppm Ge, 36ppm Ir.
